1) WORK-TRAVEL PROGRAMS

WIFI TRIBE. I interviewed Diego Bejarano Gerke on Episode 74 about co-founding Wifi Tribe, which facilitates your ability to travel the world with other like-minded remote professionals. In 2025, you can co-live and co-work for a month at a time in places like Namibia, Mauritius, Japan, Vietnam, Patagonia, Italy, or even unplug for a week-long ski trip in the French Alps. See all the dates, locations, and join WiFi Tribe here.

2) DESTINATIONS

HELSINKI, FINLAND. This month I hung out in Helsinki for the first time and it’s filled with design shops, galleries, and amazing architecture. Whether you want to try a traditional Finnish sauna, hang out with reindeer, or check out the incredible museums, it’s a rich center of Nordic culture and a great hub to explore more of the Baltic region (you can take a 2.5 hour boat to/from Estonia). Oh, and be sure to try the Salmon soup!

3) EXPERIENCES

VISIT THE MUSEUM OF OCCUPATIONS AND FREEDOM FIGHTS IN VILNIUS, LITHUANIA. This memorial and educational center chronicles Lithuania’s experience under Soviet and Nazi occupations. It is housed in the former headquarters of the Soviet KGB (and the Gestapo during the Nazi Occupation), where countless Lithuanians were interrogated, imprisoned, tortured, and executed. You’re confronted with the visceral realities of authoritarian regimes, state-sponsored oppression, and the resilience of the human spirit. I highly recommend a visit to study and learn from this history.

Did you Listen to Last Week’s Episode of The Maverick Show?

Last week I interviewed Yuri Chu Su who talked about pursuing a traditional career path and then discovering The Maverick Show and being inspired to become a digital nomad. She explains her process for quitting her corporate job, using her existing skillset to land remote freelance clients, and then transitioning into a lifestyle of itinerant world travel. Yuri also explains how she built a meaningful community of other world travelers and then reflects on her multi-cultural identity and what travel means to her today. Listen here on your favorite platform.
