Episode Summary

Nora Yusuf takes us on her journey growing up in Malaysia, studying abroad in the UK, traveling through Europe, working in the Middle East, and then becoming a photographer, traveling to many of the world’s most remote locations and capturing their natural beauty.  She shares her favorite travel destinations in her home country of Malaysia, and then talks about what she loves about the natural beauty of super-remote destinations.  Nora shares her travel experiences sleeping in the snow in Antarctica, seeing the Aurora Borealis in Greenland, traveling the Silk Road in Central Asia, and visiting Lake Baikal in Siberia during the winter.  She then recounts her experience spending time with Eagle Huntresses in Mongolia and talks about her 4×4 expeditions in East Africa and South America.  Nora shares her adventure in the Amazon and her experience in the Pantanal Wetlands catching piranhas to barbecue with Malaysian spices and eat.  She then shares some tactical tips on how to take better photos and timelapse videos.  And, finally, Nora reflects on the impact all of her world travel has had, what travel means to her today, and why it’s important for her to break down stereotypes and inspire other women to travel.  FULL SHOW NOTES AVAILABLE AT: www.TheMaverickShow.com

Nora has visited some of the world’s most remote and stunningly beautiful landscapes. Her mission is to encourage interest in travel, adventure and nature, and to inspire women and break down stereotypes.
